XIV International Art Competition „The Garden Full of Beauty,
Kindness and Joy: Paradise.”

Organizer: Youth Palace, Nowy Sącz, Poland

The competition is held under the patronage of  President of Nowy Sącz Mr Ludomir Handzel.

Theme:

The theme “Paradise”  has been chosen to draw young people’s attention to an idea of either an old-fashioned garden or an imaginary paradise.

Age requirement

This juried art competition is open to children and youth aged 5 -19.

Medium

The work can be expressed in any artistic genre from representational to abstract. All still mediums: painting, drawing, collage, etc. A chosen medium ought to be flat.

Formats

The maximum format for an entry is 100 × 70 cm.

There are no restrictions to the number of contestants. Each contestant can send only one piece of art and must be the creator of the art submitted to the competition. It must not be a copy of anyone else’s copyrighted material. The work must be completed within the last six months and could not have been awarded in any other art competition.

 Judging criteria:

  • Does the artwork fit the theme of the competition?
  • Is there a creative interpretation of the theme?
  • Is the originality of the work interesting?

The judges will be looking for works of art which present the young artist’s unique interpretation of the theme, how colours define their works as an interpretation and reflection of paradise.

Submission deadlines

All artworks must be submitted until March 10, 2020. No artworks will be accepted past the posted deadline. Please, make sure that your postal service is able to deliver them by that time.

Please, indicate the value of the package no more than 20 dollars. A package with higher value may be stopped at the customs and a tax added. In case of a package whose value is higher than 20 dollars, any additional cost will be paid by the participant of the Competition.

Artist notification

The judges’ decision will be final. Winners will be notified by e-mail and on our website on March 25, 2020. The prizes will be presented at the gallery opening on April 2, 2020 at 15.00 at the Youth Palace at Rynek 14, Nowy Sącz.

Entry Form

Mail-in entries must be accompanied by one original Entry Form per artist (to download click here). Each artwork must be clearly marked with the artist’s name, age and the contact on a label stuck on the back. Only properly marked works, together with fully completed Entry Forms will be accepted. Works should be placed in an unsealed plastic sleeve and attached to the Entry Form.

Terms

By entering this art competition, you are granting us a license to reproduce images of your artwork on our website and in our newsletters, and in the marketing of the art competition to the general public. Artworks will not be used for any other purpose than that which is stated here. All winning entries will be displayed on our website in the “Multimedia Gallery”.

The works are not returned.
